Meet Rosemarie

Rosemarie Lauricella Tocci was an active, vibrant individual who touched the lives of everybody around her and beyond. A loving mother and devoted wife, she treated everybody as “her children,” yet retained a childlike innocence of her own.

Although her life was tragically shortened, Rosemarie filled it with joy that spilled over to all who met her. Anybody who knew Rosemarie would instantly recognize "celebrate life" as her daily attitude.

Rosemarie spent the last year of her life fighting, for the second time, a prolonged battle with cancer. Despite constant pain, the rigors of chemotherapy and the endless ordeal of hospital stays, she never once complained. Her only concern was lifting the spirit of those around her.

She did, however, have a dream that she shared shortly before passing away. Typically, it had nothing to do with her, and everything to do with others like her, who are suffering and struggling with disease and illness.

Rosemarie's dream was to create a "healing house".  A welcoming place where adult cancer patients could stay in between hospital visits, or to recover their strength before journeying home. Her own description of this home was "a Ronald McDonald House for grown ups."

With Rosemarie gone it is up to her family and many friends to make her dream a reality. Our goal is to create a "healing house" in honor of Rosemarie.
